The power of your local library
I don’t know about wherever you live, but Columbus has a phenomenal public library system. It even says “Rated best library in the nation” on the main Columbus Library website, so they’re pretty serious about it. After my first experience with them, I would tend to agree.
We visited the Worthington branch of the Columbus libraries a couple days ago. This is a relatively small branch and it’s still very well stocked in music, DVDs, and audio books. There are about forty African music CDs that I plan to check out over the next several months! And don’t even get me started on the DVDs and audio books.
The best part was when I hopped on a library computer and started reserving computer books. I got a little carried away and ended up putting in requests for eighteen separate titles including several that were just published last month! Topics include PHP, MySQL, CSS, XUL, and Firefox. Needless to say, I’m ecstatic.
So I strongly encourage you to go and check out (pun definitely intended) your local library. You may be pleasantly surprised…
