Whatever you do, don’t give up. If you believe in what you are doing and what you have to offer, success will come from an unlikely place. There are many success stories about people and their ideas getting rejected time and time again until someone decides takes a chance. Keep swimming!

Yeah, if nothing else, it was a useful writing exercise. I’ll keep it on file.

You’re probably right about what they were looking for. It’s no secret that the newspaper industry is reeling right now. I’ll see if I can come up with something wildly profitable for them next year. Of course, if I did that, why would I share it with them when I could just form a company around it?

That’s too bad Patrick, but you’re right it probably was a long shot. For all their talk the newspaper industry really isn’t interested in social good. Especially when they are desperate for new business models. I’m sure they were looking for a really BIG idea, not a niche idea like yours.

However I have found it a great process to put together business plans. Even if they never go anywhere they get you thinking a little more creatively.

Keep up the entrepreneurial efforts.
